backThe PCAOB will host an in-person workshop in Washington, D.C. on May 13, 2025 “designed to assist smaller audit firms with the practical implementation of QC 1000, A Firm’s System of Quality Control,” which is the new risk-based quality control standard scheduled to become effective December 15, 2025. QC 1000 is scalable depending on the size and complexity of firms, with some provisions only applicable to larger firms. The PCAOB notes the workshop is “geared toward individuals at smaller audit firms who are directly responsible for implementing QC 1000” and that there will be “hands-on activities on the practical implementation” of QC 1000 and “opportunities to engage directly with PCAOB staff” ahead of the effective date.
